As a mom of four kids, I worry every time they step foot outside our home. This reality is shared by many residents of our district and throughout Wisconsin. As a candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly, my dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of every Wisconsinite runs deep. We need to do better to protect our communities.

HOLISTIC CRIME PREVENTION

I advocate for investing in evidence-based crime prevention programs, such as community policing and youth outreach initiatives, to tackle the root causes of crime and foster safer neighborhoods. By partnering with local law enforcement, community organizations, schools, and social services agencies, we can implement comprehensive strategies that address crime holistically and promote positive outcomes for individuals and families.

TRAINING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Promoting ongoing training in de-escalation techniques, cultural competency, and accountability measures for law enforcement officers is essential. By ensuring professionalism and respect for civil rights and liberties, we can strengthen trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Moreover, I support initiatives to bolster partnerships between law enforcement, mental health providers, and social workers, enabling compassionate and effective responses to crisis situations, mental health emergencies, and substance abuse issues.

 

GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION

I am a staunch advocate for common-sense gun safety measures, including universal background checks, red flag laws, and safe storage requirements. These measures are crucial for preventing gun violence, protecting public safety, and reducing firearm-related accidents. Additionally, I support initiatives aimed at addressing the underlying causes of gun violence, such as bolstering mental health services, implementing youth violence prevention programs, and combatting illegal firearms trafficking. By addressing these issues comprehensively, we can mitigate the risks posed by firearms and create safer communities for all.
